Software provider Advanced makes 200-job pledge for 2017

One of the UK鈥檚 largest software providers has pledged to create more than 200 jobs at its Birmingham HQ.

Advanced, which is based at the Mailbox, has successfully created 200 new roles in the past nine months.

So far, 75 per cent of the appointments have been from the Midlands region.

Secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy, Greg Clark, has stated that his goals for establishing a modern industrial strategy for Britain will be made up of connected cities that are fit for the future.

Visiting one of Birmingham鈥檚 biggest commercial buildings, he said: 鈥淎dvanced is a great example of an innovative British business that is growing and creating skilled jobs across the UK.

“Its investment in regional hubs, such as today鈥檚 opening of its extended West Midlands office here in Birmingham, is attracting new talent and creating exciting regional career opportunities.

鈥淭his fits with the vision of our industrial strategy which will make the UK the place where businesses choose to start, grow and prosper.鈥

On Friday, Advanced officially opened its newly extended regional HQ.

CEO Gordon Wilson added: 鈥淲e are keen to create a sustainable growing business.

鈥淲ith 200 new staff already in place and a further 200 roles to be filled, we are positively contributing to the jobs market here in the West Midlands.

鈥淏y attracting the best talent, we鈥檙e confident that our ambitious plans can be delivered.

Advanced is currently undergoing a sizeable transformation and April 2016, announced its goal to recruit 400 new staff members over the next 18 months.

The firm is on target to recruit these roles by the autumn after growing into a 拢750m company in just eight years.
