A rival to Uber is offering taxi fares across Manchester of just 拢2.80.
Gett is an app which allows users to book licensed black cabs.
The firm, which operates in more than 70 cities across the world, claims to run more than half of the black cabs in London.
A statement from the Israeli company read: 鈥淕ett, the global on-demand transportation and lifestyle app, is introducing 拢2.80 rides throughout Manchester after it was named one of the most progressive cities in the UK, with the largest tech cluster and growth outside of London.
鈥淕ett would like to celebrate black cabs being an integral part of the digital revolution by introducing everyone to safe and comfortable travel in a licensed taxi around the city.
鈥淐ustomers can book 拢2.80 rides via the Gett app through a special class at the top of the home screen called 鈥楪ett Promo鈥.
鈥淭here are no time restrictions on this deal, 拢2.80 rides are available 24/7 including weekends within central Manchester.
鈥淐ustomers can simply book a black cab via the app and must add their destination and pay by card to get the 拢2.80 offer.
鈥淎n example of a journey that riders can take includes travelling to or from Old Trafford Football Stadium all the way across town to Victoria train station for just 拢2.80, anytime and day of the week.鈥
The deal is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
