Newcastle Start-Up Week kicks off today,聽a citywide, multi-venue festival of entrepreneurship and innovation to help attendees ‘go from business idea to execution in just聽five days’.
The city聽is described as England’s ‘test bed’ – it was the birthplace of the world鈥檚 first lightbulb and has been “inventing the future for hundreds of years”.
Now a breeding ground for business software and smart data, it is in close proximity to five universities, has great transport links, and is home to a thriving digital聽and creative sector.
The event runs from聽today until May 19, and will welcome 50 speakers and more than聽500 entrepreneurs.
