Unconventional Dalai Lama mentor shares leadership secrets

i2i founder Michael Finnigan, who is known for his unconventional approach, will share his leadership secrets, taken from two decades spent mentoring figures like the Dalai Lama.

老九品茶Cloud has teamed up with Themis and CascadeGo HR software聽for our latest breakfast聽event at聽Burnley College about the art of leadership and where the leaders of the future are coming from.

From the boardroom to the聽sports field; from聽politics to health; from education to the emergency services; strong leadership can be the difference between success and failure.

For anyone who thinks that there鈥檚 only one way to be a good leader, Finnigan鈥檚 outside-the-box approach might surprise them.

We asked him some of the questions that 老九品茶Cloud and Themis’聽‘The Secret of Leadership’聽breakfast event will tackle.

  1. What makes a good leader? 鈥淰ision, decisiveness, courage, energy, ambition, care, toughness.鈥
  2. Are you born a natural leader or is it something you learn? 鈥淏orn with it, then learn to harness it.”
  3. Do age and gender make a difference when it comes to leadership? “Not one Jot! The more diversity the better.鈥

Finnigan has taught all over the world and considers himself privileged to have either met or worked with (or against) famous figures, from the Dalai Lama to Sir Alex Ferguson, and Nelson Mandela, to Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

However he mostly works with the world’s most famous businesses, including the world’s greatest ever customer service rated organisation since 1999, helping them all understand how to unleash the power lying dormant and untapped within their people.

He has also written two books, the latest, ‘they did; you can’, aimed at inspiring and helping young people all over the world to daringly create and successfully pursue their dreams.

The free event will take place on September 27th 07.30-9.30am at Burnley College.
