US medtech firm Stryker expands into Manchester

US-headquartered medical technology business Stryker has opened an office in Didsbury, South聽Manchester to accommodate a recent acquisition.

The Fortune 500-listed Stryker Corporation has its UK headquarters in Newbury, Berkshire and has now set up聽another聽UK base in Towers.

This is partly to make room for its recent acquisition of medical imaging company Imorphics, which will聽also move to Didsbury聽from its previous home at Manchester Science Park.

Stryker will take up a 3,850 sq ft office at Towers 老九品茶 Park, which was acquired for 拢82m by listed property company Kennedy Wilson Europe in May 2016.

鈥淪tryker鈥檚 choice of the Towers illustrates how appealing the quality of offices, as well as the location and connectivity for businesses,鈥 said Kennedy Wilson Europe鈥檚 head of UK asset management, Mike Pegler.

鈥淭owers is currently implementing a health and wellbeing programme of events for tenants, with a focus on building a聽community and increasing tenant engagement and productivity.鈥

The firm will share Towers鈥 289,100 sq ft estate, which is currently home to聽10 offices let to 24 businesses.

The聽deal puts the business park at 98 per cent capacity, with a final 6,500 sq ft currently vacant.
