Winning Venturefest鈥檚 early stage Innovation Showcase competition will help with investment, PR and networking says Beatstream Media

The winners of Venturefest Manchester鈥檚 early stage Innovation Showcase competition say聽they hopes the kudos from the event will help secure聽investment going forward.

Gig-streaming platform Beatstream Media, who will feature in 老九品茶Cloud鈥檚 upcoming Tech 1sts list, fought off four other start-ups for the title.

The revolutionary聽app lets fans watch their favourite bands streamed live from performances around the world, allowing music venues to have a global reach.

Each team had three minutes to pitch their business to聽an audience of around 650 people,聽a mix of investors, fellow entrepreneurs, innovators and business enthusiasts from around the region.

鈥淲e鈥檝e already got a strong boardroom in place so it鈥檚 hopefully just the catalyst we need to gain the investment now,鈥 Beatstream CEO and co-founder Matthew Walsh told 老九品茶Cloud in the podcast you can listen to below.

鈥淚t will allow us to gain a bit more traction with PR, and for our network to grow exponentially 鈥 we can start to really move forward.鈥

The winners each take home a 拢20,000 prize package, with drinks company Mello taking home the title of Best Established 老九品茶.

Walsh, who says he鈥檚 鈥渁 bit in shock鈥 at the win, admits the team will have a drink to celebrate but will be back to work聽on Friday聽morning.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a massive kudos winning Venturefest,鈥 he said.

鈥淲e鈥檝e worked really hard in the last 12 months to put the right support structure around the business, add it to this the package and exclusive victory for us and the sky鈥檚 the limit for Beatstream.鈥

Speaking at Manchester鈥檚 Bridgewater Hall, Walsh shared why Venturefest, which is in its fourth year,聽is so important for the business community and the city.

鈥淥bviously Manchester鈥檚 very good at promoting itself and that鈥檚 why we felt so proud that we鈥檙e from Manchester 鈥 to be a part of that is amazing,鈥 he said.

鈥淢anchester鈥檚 an ever-evolving city, whether that鈥檚 breaking new ground in music, in tech 鈥 it鈥檚 somewhere that reinvents something that鈥檚 previously been done.

鈥淭here鈥檚 something magical about Manchester that makes you think differently when you鈥檙e there 鈥 the people, the personality, everything taps into your creative strain and off you go.

鈥淭hat鈥檚 why Beatstream鈥檚 developed as it has 鈥 we鈥檝e gone through two rebrands, we鈥檙e now established and happy and we鈥檙e proud we鈥檙e from Manchester.鈥

Speaking to last year鈥檚 winner Mike Anderson of Nothing But Epic, the benefits of the win are clear.

鈥淭he last year has been crazy since winning,鈥 Anderson said.

鈥淭here are two sides to the business. The agency side, Nothing But Epic, has gone from strength-to-strength, the team has increased by five and we鈥檝e won a few national clients.

鈥淧adoq, our community network platform, managed to raise 拢315,000 investment earlier this year and we鈥檙e now working to get the final product to the public early next year.鈥
